New member enquiries – How do I visit the club?

What is the best time to visit and see the club?

  • Saturdays 4:15pm - we can arrange a tour most Saturdays - contact help.kgsc@gmail.com to arrange

  • It may be possible to arrange a meeting at other times. However the gate has to remain locked due to Thames Water regulations, so you will need to arrange for someone to meet you.

How does the gate work?

The gate must always remain closed (as per Thames Water instructions). Once you become a member, you will be provided with the combination so that you can come and go as you please.

Do you teach people to sail?

  • As a club we do not have enough volunteers to teach beginners, however we do have a tuition partner - Keep Sailing North London - their website - they will be teaching RYA courses in sailing, wing surfing, powerboat and potentially windsurfing, to both adults and children, from July 2024.

  • Once you have your RYA Level 2 in dinghy sailing or Start Windsurfing/Wing Foiling qualifications you are very welcome to join the club, and get out on our fabulous water.

  • We have a coached sailing session most Saturday afternoons for members, at a small charge, or free if you have paid to hire a club boat.

  • We have a small amount of club kit for hire to members (we cannot hire to members of the public, as we are not insured to do so). The kit is priced betwen £5 and £20 a day, and ranges from paddleboards to Wayfarers. We do not yet have any winging kit to hire.
