Birdwatching

King George V Reservoirs are a listed Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Access to birdwatching is restricted and permission must be requested via the Fisheries Rangers at Walthamstow Wetlands. You can contact them on 07747641179. Alternatively you can visit the rangers office. Their website, with directions to the rangers office can be found here.

The reservoir is a major wintering ground for wildfowl and wetland birds, including nationally important species. The water also forms a moult refuge for a large population of wildfowl during the late summer months.
